EuroGIX’s services

Adhesion to the EuroGIX service, if all the conditions are met (see 4.3), gives the customer access to the following services :

• Hosting of the ISP’s or the operator’s router: ISPs/operators must have a router on the EuroGIX platform. It must have a 10/100 Mb Ethernet interface and a WAN interface. In the end, this router could be provided to the customer.
• Connection to a LAN architecture via a 10/100 Mb port: Initially the Ethernet switch will have only 10/100Mb ports.
• NTP services: this service consists in providing the same time bases to the hosted routers so that they have the same time. It is necessary for alarm increases.
• VLAN configuration: several customers wish to use a VLAN to exchange information, in order to have an increased safety or being able to control and dedicate the band-width to some "peers". For that, 2 complementary services are offered: a VLAN dedicated port and an Ether-Channel (link aggregation).

The services that are not yet available (but that will come soon) are as follow:

• Supplying the router to the customer (this service would take into account the router’s supervision).
• Connection to a LAN architecture via a Gigabit Ethernet port.
• Connection to the Ethernet switch without a hosted router: the switch will offer a WAN connection acting like a router.
• Secondary DNS service: the redundancy would allow a faster resolution of the domain names.
• Statistics per customer.
• "Route reflector" service : this service will allow customers to discharge them of BGP connections surplus (and to facilitate their configuration).
• Service of "server route": ensure coherence between BGP broadcasts and the declarations to the RIPE.
• Peering IPv6 : this service will offer an exchange node in IPv6 standard (IPv4 until 2010).
• multicast: the customer will have a multicast exchange node with a PIM/SM protocol.
• Server hosting: this service will make content hosting possible according to the CdN ("Content Delivery Network") philosophy in order to optimize the response times and the weight on the transit links.

The services that will not be offered:

• Private peering "back to back": EuroGIX, being a platform of free information exchange, will not allow such an exclusive service.
